If you have unexpected transaction exceptions in the Transactions Table on the Transactions tab of your Ledgible dashboard, there are several actions you can take to correct the transaction exceptions:
- First, be sure that you have added all of you wallets and exchanges so your cryptocurrency transaction data is complete. The Ledgible platform tracks your funds as they move between your exchanges and wallets, but if it is missing a buy order, for example, and the platform then sees you sell the crypto, it will flag the taxable disposal event due to lack of source funds. This also prevents the platform from correctly calculating your cost basis for disposals.
Note: Not all exchange and wallet providers code their solutions the same way and may change the way their systems work without notice, occasionally causing omissions in your Ledgible data. Please let us know if we are missing some types of transactions from an exchange or wallet by contacting us through the Support button in the lower right of all Ledgible dashboard pages.
- If your Ledgible dashboard shows a message that a Tax Update Refresh should be run because your data has been updated recently, make sure you start the Tax Update Refresh and allow time for it to run. If you have a large amount of transactions please allow it some time to complete the new calculations.
- On the Transactions table, you can choose how to correct each transaction exception by either selecting a source of funds (manual wallets only) or by adding a manual entry to show the origination of the funds.
- If the Transactions table in your Ledgible dashboard shows multiple transaction exceptions due to missing buy orders from an exchange or transfers in from a wallet you do not own, it may be quicker to add one manual entry to cover the sum of the missing transactions (or one entry for each cryptocurrency if more than one type), rather than correct each exception one manual entry at a time. See Determining the Amount to Add to Correct Transaction Exceptions on how to calculate the amount to use and and Adding a Manual Entry for a New Wallet.
